Introduction of YANMAR VC30 & JC30(Z) Vessel Control System

As a trusted leader in marine propulsion innovation, YANMAR continues to innovate to deliver the best on-water experience. In response to evolving market needs and the demand for smarter, more integrated control solutions, we are excited to introduce a new generation of YANMAR Vessel Control System: VC30 and JC30(Z) Joystick systems. This third-generation control system has been developed in-house and brings advanced features, refined design, and enhanced performance to meet the expectations of the current boating needs. It will replace VC20, JC10(A), and JC20(A), which have been well received by our customers since their launch in 2020. In this bulletin we will explain the general characteristics, features and functionality of VC30.

The third-generation Vessel Control System from YANMAR introduces new and improved features that enhance the user experience.

Key features of the all-new VC30 & JC30(Z) include:

• Newly designed display – with modern appearance and larger 4.3” 1000cd optically bonded screen, readable in direct sunlight. It now also features a NMEA2000 output directly on the back of the screen, to easily connect it to the neighboring MFD.
• Newly designed joystick – with integrated buttons and matching design to the control head.
• Fewer components – Helm, Drive, Joystick ECU’s and EPV Driver combined into a single industrial Marine ECU.
• Simplified wire harness – compact wiring and connectors enable quicker, hassle-free installation even through tighter routes and cable ducts.
• Suitable for large/powerful vessels – VC30 is compatible with single, twin, and triple engine installations. Controllable from up to 4 helm stations.

• Simplified system for the JH-CR series – Designed with fewer components, but still with the same look and feel.
• Yanmar Position Assist (YPA) on JC30Z – Improved location keeping functionality (requires GNSS Compass).
• Autopilot Integration on JC30Z – Compatible with the well-known Autopilot brands: Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno and Simrad.

VC30 is applicable for YANMAR’s common rail marine diesel engines for sailboat, powerboat, and light duty commercial applications, including JH-CR, 4LV, 8LV, 6LY-CR, 6LF and 6LT engine series.

JC30 is applicable for single, twin, and triple installations. Compatible with VETUS BOWPRO and Sleipner eVision thruster series.

JC30Z is designed to be used with our twin or triple sterndrive (ZT-H-370 with E-shift) engine installations.

Orders can be placed from the 18th of November 2025, with expected deliveries starting from December 2025. The phase-out period for deliveries for the VC20 system will be 1.5 years. After this, the VC20 components will be supplied exclusively through the Spare Parts Department.

The official product launch will take place at the Marine Equipment Trade Show METS (18 to 20 November 2025) in RAI Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
